Horological puzzle - do you think like a watchmaker or a lawyer ?
Watch gears are called
wheels
and
pinions
. Whether a gear is a wheel or a pinion, depends on it's relative size in relation to the next meshing gear.
Therefore, on the picture below, gear A is
a/ pinion
b/ wheel
