Earlier today, a visitor from Melbourne came
in to check out the NH55. A subscriber to our newsletter and a follower
of the ‘manufactured in Australia’ project. And once again, we talked
about design, making, perfection, timascus, and guilloche; about
precision and how difficult it is to turn an idea into a real, physical
watch.
He left impressed. And that is the only thing that matters.
Quite frankly, and without fake modesty, as I type this, I am equally
impressed with the outcome of the project we’ve poured our heart and
soul into. NH55 is not just the most ‘made in Australia’ watch of all
time but probably the last such watch in many years to come. It is a
miracle, a crazy project that started ten years ago, that consumed every
cent of investment at our disposal, and that required sacrifice only a
person fighting for its existence is willing and able to do. But it was
more than that – as we were making the watch, the watch was making us.
The knowledge acquired, our ability to design, shape, and make, and our
capability to manufacture at such an incredible level of precision is
knowledge that could not be acquired in any other way. Priceless,
ultimately rewarding, multigenerational, never to be forgotten.
And yes, it was worth it. We’ve promised, and we have delivered. Every second of it.
The best of all: our journey has just begun.
Should you invest in the most Australian watch ever? Don’t rush with the
answer. But if you wish to see the watch, be impressed, and dare I say –
be inspired, then stop by and check out the NH55 in person. It will be
worth your time, every second of it, guaranteed. | |
