Seiko x Supercars 2025

Seiko 5 Sports Supercars Limited Edition SRPL54K, a striking timepiece that celebrates the brand’s enduring partnership with the Repco Supercars Championship. This new release marks another milestone in a collaboration that began in 2014 and has recently been extended for an additional two years, solidifying Seiko’s commitment to the thrilling world of Australian motorsport.

For 2025, Seiko Australia shifts its focus to this essential element of motorsport. The latest Limited Edition Supercars watch is inspired by the relentless energy, technical precision, and unforgiving nature of the track. A place where every twist, turn, climb, and descent pushes both driver and machine to their absolute limits. A challenge where milliseconds define legacies. This exclusive edition is more than just a timepiece - it is a tribute to the unwavering spirit of racing.
The 2025 Limited Edition Supercars Seiko 5 is a bold tribute to the intensity of the track, featuring a unique textured dial that mirrors the raw surface of racing asphalt. Every detail is designed for a tactile connection to motorsport, from the grid-inspired bezel markers to the Lumi Brite 12 o’clock marker—a homage to the starting lights that signal the rush of competition.
This limited-edition timepiece is presented in a specially designed collector’s box, featuring a detailed track map of the legendary Mount Panorama circuit in Bathurst—an unmistakable nod to one of Supercars’ most iconic racetracks. Completing the experience, the box also houses a scaled replica of the pit lane watch tower, with the limited-edition serial number engraved on the case back, ensuring every piece remains an exclusive part of motorsport history.

Seiko Supercars

"The Repco Supercars Championship is the leading Motorsport category in Australasia, with events taking place across Australia and New Zealand. Last year saw Seiko celebrate 10 years of partnership with the Repco Supercars Championship as the official timepiece of Australasia’s Premier Motorsports series. The category is renowned for its exciting racing and the closeness of competition, with millimetres and milliseconds often being the difference between victory and despair.

2024 sees the continuation of the partnership between Seiko 5 Sports and the Repco Supercars Championship. To celebrate this legacy, we are thrilled to release our latest Seiko 5 Supercars Limited Edition; SRPL01K."

The Supercars are back

One of the more surprising and exciting partnerships to come from Seiko, was the one they made last year with the Supercars. A distinctly Australian motorsport, famous for mechanical ingenuity and sending machines to the nth degree - it was an obvious partnership with Seiko who have a common philosophy.

To commemorate the 2022 Season, and the continued Seiko x Supercars partnership, Seiko have released a limited edition 'bitumen black and victory gold' Seiko 5 with only 2022 pieces available. It also comes with a silicon mesh strap with a gold supercars insignia.

Seiko have also released three special edition Seiko 5 with a carbon fibre pattern dial, coloured inner chapter ring and seconds hand, on a black silicon strap. They come in either red, blue, or yellow, each having their own distinct look, in a 42.5mm case. We have no idea how long these ones will be out for, but being special editions, I don't think we will be seeing too many.

Show your true Supercar spirit with one of these Seiko 5, or just get it for the super cool race inspired designs.

Our big day out, courtesy of Seiko

On the weekend we had a very special opportunity to attend the Supercars Supersprint event at the Sydney Motorsport Park, courtesy of Seiko. If you are a Supercars fan, or you have been following along with Seiko’s happenings, then you will know that Seiko has become a brand sponsor for the 2021 Supercars season. Sponsoring the team 18 Irwin racing car, driven by none other than Mark ‘Frosty’ Winterbottom. Being a big supporter of all things Seiko, we were very excited to see and be apart of one of their biggest initiatives to support Australian sport. Yuki Suganuma - Managing Director of Seiko Australia - said earlier in the year "Seiko has been a supporter of some of the world's biggest sporting events and occasions and we are excited to be joining one of the leading categories of global motorsport,"

We were invited inside the Team 18 garage where we were met by team manager Steve Henderson. He showed us their operations and most importantly, their cars. We were taken back at just how advanced these race machines were, as well as all the engineering and preparation that went into getting one race ready.
We were also invited out onto the grid before the race to see all the Supercars lined up, and watch Mark Winterbottom prepare. Although nothing could prepare us for just how loud and mighty these racing machines were when they got fired up - absolutely incredible!

Seiko's support of the Supercars boils down to a very simple reason for them, with Mr Suganuma stating, "We are excited to bring Seiko 5 to the world of Supercars. Reliability, durability and performance are critical in both the world of Supercars and in every Seiko 5 Sports timepiece." It is very exciting to see Seiko get involved in and support local initiatives here in Australia, especially one that values engineering, accuracy and build quality - much like their own series of watches.

We thank Seiko Australia for their kind invite, as well as Team 18 for welcoming us into their garage and showing us their behind the scenes operations. We look forward to following along and supporting the rest of the Irwin racing team's season, and also to seeing more super cool Seiko 5 releases!
